2014 David Ortiz Game Worn Spikes and Batting Gloves
In what is likely the twilight of his career, David Ortiz entered select company, becoming just the 27th MLB player to enter the elite 500 Home Run Club. "Big Papi" will certainly merit Hall of Fame consideration when his time comes, and this lot features items game worn and signed by the 2013 World Series MVP. The pair of New Balance rubberized spikes are size 12 and have his number "34" written on both tongues, and both are signed on the toe in 6/10 silver Sharpie. Also included is a pair of batting gloves with "34" on them, signed in 8/10 silver. All of the items here show nice use with light clay residue on the soles, and were obtained directly from Ortiz.
