2014 Jose Altuve Game Worn Fielder's Glove
Only 27 years of age and with just seven professional seasons under his belt, Jose Altuve already has a litany of accomplishments to his name. The diminutive Venezuelan is a five-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger, three-time AL batting champ and in 2017 won both the World Series and AL MVP Award. His accomplishments thus far are especially impressive considering he was initially denied a tryout by the Houston Astros because he was so small the team believed he was lying about his age. Undeterred, Altuve returned the next day with his birth certificate in hand, and once he was given the opportunity to showcase his talent he was immediately signed by the club. This glove was game worn by Altuve during the 2014 season, a year he won a Silver Slugger Award, was the AL batting champ, and was named to the All-Star team. It is a Wilson A2K model that shows tremendous use. There is a heavy indent on the left index finger padding and a worn pocket. The glove was given to a consignor during Spring Training of 2015 and it comes with an LOA from the consignor. Altuve is a name that could very well be among the pantheon of all-time greats when all is said and done.
