"42" The Jackie Robinson Story Multi-Signed Movie Poster w/Chadwick Boseman (PSA)
Presented is a multi-signed movie poster from the film "42" (The Jackie Robinson Story), featuring the signature of Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed Robinson. The movie, produced by Legendary Pictures, was released in 2013. The film was generally praised by critics, and the performances of Boseman and of Harrison Ford, as the Dodgers part-owner Branch Rickey, came in for high praise. Also signing the poster is Brian Hegeland, the director and writer of the picture, and John C. McGinley, who received plaudits for his portrayal of Brooklyn Dodgers lead announcer, Red Barber. An earlier version of Jackie Robinson's breaking of the Major League color line was The Jackie Robinson Story, produced by Jewel Pictures and released in 1950. It starred Jackie as himself, and Ruby Dee, as his wife, Rachel Robinson, and did well at the box office. "42" was also a financial success. Director/writer Helgeland and John McGinley signed the poster near the bottom, and Boseman, who passed away in 2020, signed the poster near the top. Each of the three signatures is bold and signed with a black marker. The poster, with an approx. measurement of 27x39.5", has a stirring photograph of Boseman, as Robinson, emphatically executing a hard slide into a base. The poster is in excellent condition.
