5/24/92 Indianapolis 500 Race Flags
Display set of five flags dating from the Indianapolis 500 on May 24, 1992. Comes with wood base measuring 12" in diameter by 1", holding six flags around the circle with another 1" raised platform in the middle for the checkered flag. Plate on top of base has the Indy 500 logo and reads, "The Seventy-Sixth - May 24, 1992" and a plate on the side of the base is engraved "Limited Edition 008" (sticker under base verifies that this is serial number 008). Flagpoles are approximately 36", flags measure roughly 24x23" and include green, red, yellow, white, black, "passing" (blue with orange stripe), and of course, checkered. These may be one of several sets used during the race, however we are unable to independently verify this. The '92 race was memorable as the closest finish in history, with Al Unser, Jr., edging out Scott Goodyear by 0.043 seconds.
