6/10/04 Bernie Williams 2,000th Hit Signed & Inscribed Game Used Base (Steiner)

6/10/04 Bernie Williams 2,000th Hit Signed & Inscribed Game Used Base (Steiner)

On June 10, 2004, in a game against the Colorado Rockies at Yankee Stadium, Yankees centerfielder Bernie Williams recorded the 2,000th hit of his career. At the time, it ranked him seventh on the Yankees' all-time hit list. Williams' 2,000th hit, a single into right field, occurred in the bottom of the fourth inning against Rockies starter Jason Jennings and was his third hit of the game in the Yankees' easy 10-4 win. Offered is a base used in that historic game that has also been signed by Williams. The base features the Yankees' "100th Anniversary" logo on two of the sides, and the MLB logo on the other two. Williams has inscribed the base in black marker (grading 9/10) "Bernie Williams 200th hit 6/10/04." The base was originally obtained directly from Steiner Sports, who has provided an LOA for the base and COA for the Williams signature. The base displays moderate use, including numerous soil marks. Williams eventually retired with 2,336 lifetime hits, all of which came in a Yankee uniform. Currently he ranks fifth on the Yankees' all-time hit list, behind only Derek Jeter, Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, and Mickey Mantle. Please note: the size and/or weight of this lot willnecessitate an increased shipping charge.
