888 Old Judge N173 Cabinet Cards Advertisement
1888 die-cut trade card, issued by Goodwin & Co. in promotion of its Old Judge Cigarettes, featuring advertising on the reverse for N173 Old Judge baseball cabinet cards. The front is folded and when the cover is lifted it reveals a colorful illustration of a young boy being punished for not buying his father Old Judge Cigarettes. The text on the reverse reminds patrons that a cabinet photograph of a prominent baseball player can be obtained by sending in twenty-five redemption slips (or twenty-five box covers) found in packages of Old Judge or Gypsy Queen Cigarettes. The trade card (4.5x7.25", unfolded) displays normal creasing at the attachment flap, a few light creases and tiny tears, and two tiny holes. One the closure flaps has been torn off. In Good to Very Good condition overall, but still an attractive example of this popular Old Judge advertising card.
