928-1934 Babe Ruth Japanese Collection w/1928 Shonen Kulubu (PSA)
Amazing trio of Babe Ruth items relating to his 1920s-30s tours of Japan. 1) 1928 Shonen Kulubu postcard features an amazing color 5.5x3.5" image of Babe having just taken a mighty swing. Japanese characters are down the right side, back has postcard printing but is otherwise blank. Encapsulated PSA Authentic. 2) 1934 Tour of Japan American & Japanese All Stars postcard measures 5.5x3.5" and is a superb shot featuring both teams with identification; of course, the player images and IDs are quite small. Encapsulated by PSA graded VG+ 3.5. 3) 1929 Babe Ruth Home Run King promotional flyer has a scorecard on back which has been scored in blue pen. Measures roughly 7x4.5" with head shot of Ruth on the front, all print is in Japanese. Age and use are evident with scattered toning and a large chip in the bottom right corner. With professional baseball in Japan just beginning in the 1920s, the sport-passionate country eagerly awaited off-season visits from some of the legends of the game, with The Bambino's gigantic personality having already reached far across the Pacific.
