989 Ken Griffey Jr. Rookie Seattle Mariners Signed Game Used Bat (PSA GU 9)
A holy grail piece for any late 1980s baseball fan of a certain age, this 1989 Ken Griffey Jr. game used and signed bat comes from the fan favorite and Hall of Famer's rookie season in Seattle with the Mariners. Louisville Slugger Model C271 measures in at 34" and weighs 31.1 ounces and features heavy use including a repaired handle crack, numerous ball marks, ball stitch impressions, blue ink transfers, white leather scuffs, cleat marks, bat rack streaks and a light coat of home plate paint on the top right barrel. The handle of the bat displays the remnants of Griffey's criss-cross tape application, seen on many of his bats during his rookie season. Griffey Jr. hit 16 home runs during his rookie campaign and was well on his way to becoming the superstar he is remembered as today. If injuries hadn't plagued his late-career production, who knows what Ken Griffey Jr.'s final statistics could have looked like? The bat has been signed by the Hall of Famer and 600 Home Run Club member in 9/10 silver Sharpie on the barrel and looks tremendous. Comes with a PSA GU 9 LOA; LOA is for the bat only and not the signature.
