"A Happy Baseball Birthday" Baseball Cards with Griffey, Boggs & Mattingly (100+)

"A Happy Baseball Birthday" Baseball Cards with Griffey, Boggs & Mattingly (100+)

Here's the predecessor to the talking birthday card. Though it didn't have a long lifespan, "A Happy Baseball Birthday" was an enterprise undertaken in 1991 at the height of the modern baseball card market during which famous ballplayers read birthday messages put to tape for fans. Offered here is the final inventory of the promotion that includes the original scripts read by the Major Leaguers and signed to create the facsimile signature on the reverse (card portion). There's an advertising brochure signed by all the participating players, averaging 9/10 with plans to promote the project on ESPN and through trade publications. Also included are 17 uncut card sheets for packaging and roughly 80 full unused tapes in their original packaging. The back of the package was a large trading card, which also comes with the set.
