Ad Wolcast vs. Battling Nelson Fight Pictures Poster
The Battling Nelson and Ad Wolgast would meet three times over their distinguished careers and during their first encounter, a no decision, gave fans a mere taste of the ferocity to come. One year later, with both men seeking redemption, they engaged in a brutal 40 round slugfest that would not be halted until Nelson, blinded by swelling over both eyes, took his fighting stance opposite one of the ring posts. Captured on film and advertised here, each fighter is depicted sizing the other up at center ring in front of a faceless mob. This stunning lithograph, which measures 28 x 42", produced by the “Riverside Printing Co.” of Milwaukee boasts bold coloring that has a fresh appearance and grades an overall EX due to some wrinkling and light paper loss around the borders. Housed in a wood frame measuring 30"x44".
