AFL & WFL Referees Shirts
One lasted nine seasons the other just a single one but the impression the outlaw leagues left on the game lasted far longer than their actual existence and make these rare pieces especially desirable. The American Football League’s orange and white striped, long sleeve shirt owns a 4” league logo patch over the heart, which appears again, though smaller, on the left sleeve. A black tackle twill “28” is affixed to a white number plate on the verso. “28” again on the right sleeve. Collar tagging is “Huetter”. Good Use. Tri-color white, blue, and mustard stripes cover the polyester WFL referee’s shirt. On the left chest pocket is a “World Football League” patch with the number “11” on the back. Collar is tagged “Sand-Knit [size] XL” and “Designed & Tailored for the World Football League”. Includes matching cap of the same color. No tagging. Both with good use.
