AFL vs. NFL First World Championship Super Bowl I Ring
Super Bowl 1 AFL-NFL Championship ring from New Orleans Saints and Mutual Radio voice Al Wester's estate, produced by Balfour. The ring is inscribed AFL vs NFL 1rst World Championship 1966 Los Angeles Coliseum on its face. Played on January 15, 1967, the first Super Bowl pitted the upstart AFL Kansas City Chiefs against the old guard NFL Green Bay Packers. The game, won by the Packers 35-10, was referred to as the "Super Bowl" in the initial radio broadcast. The ring itself is an attractive piece which we believe to be NFL issued, shank is made of 14K gold while the shoulder is 10K with raised footballs on each side. The head of the ring is also 10K gold and is embossed with football stitching and an outline of the Los Angeles Coliseum. The center is set with one lone diamond. The ring has 22 accent diamonds surrounding the center, shows much usage wear and comes in its original box marked Balfour on the inside. Size 9.
