The Hall of Fame boxer and legendary gangster pose for this photo taken two years after Capone was accused of attempting to fix the Tunney-Dempsey rematch. Had Sharkey have beaten Dempsey on July 21, 1927, it would have been him fighting for the belt that evening. Press stamp. The majority of the photographs are fully identified, and back-stamped with dates. Included throughout this auction is a diverse mix of subjects including sports, historical, political, transportation, Hollywood, and all facets of entertainment.</p>
