Al "Kid" McCoy Signed Photo (JSA)
Vintage sepia photograph signed by former middleweight boxing champion Al McCoy (1894-1966). The photo pictures McCoy striking a boxing pose in a formal studio setting. McCoy has inscribed the photo in black fountain pen (9/10): "Wm Ratner With Best Wishes - From Al McCoy Worlds Middle-Weight Champion." McCoy, whose real name was Alexander Rudolph, reigned as the middleweight boxing champion from 1914 to 1917. Although boxing records from the early 1900s are spotty, McCoy is credited with having fought 159 bouts during his career (1910-1924), compiling an unofficial record of 76 wins, 49 losses, and 34 draws. In 1989 he was posthumously inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. The photo (5x7") remains in Excellent condition. Full LOA from JSA.
