A once in a lifetime opportunity, here's a chance to own this incredible collection of programs from one of the finest thoroughbreds ever all in one fell swoop: 1) August 3, 1936, Saratoga Springs was the red letter race where Charles Howard and his wife first saw Seabiscuit in person. Seabiscuit was then was owned by the Wheatley Stable and trained by legendary "Sunny Jim" Fitzsimmons. Smith said to owner Ogden Phipps he would buy the horse if he won its next start. 2) August 10, 1936, Saratoga Springs was the next start and Seabiscuit won easily. A man of his word, Charles Howard bought Seabisciuot from Phipps. Later that afternoon, trainer Tom Smith removed the horse from the Wheatley barn and moved it to the Howard barn, and the rest is history. 3) 1938 Hollywood Gold Cup. 4) 1939 Santa Anita is the infamous race in which Seabiscuit was injured and did not return to race until a year later, setting the stage for the ultimate story. 5) 1938 Santa Anita Handicap won by Stagehand over Seabiscuit. 6) Famed 1938 Match Race at Pimlico. The underdog beats the mighty War Admiral and sets the world on its ear (cover crease). 7-8) Two movie prop programs from the movie "Seabiscuit" with COA from Universal Studios. 9) 1941 Bay Meadow program with drawing of Seabiscuit on the cover. 10) 1938 Empire City Racing Association with "Seabiscuit Winner Of The Butler 1937" on cover. Overall condition is Excellent. As of late these programs have become incredibly difficult to find, this chance may not come your way again anytime soon. If ever.
