This grand piano shawl, masterfully hand crafted from baseball tobacco silks s81 printed in 1912, is both aesthetically, pleasing and historically significant. These large size premiums sewn into a delicate satin montage of turn of the century images, delivers the unified magic of the American pastime and incorporates three different large baseball silks; Camnitz Pittsburgh, Rucker Brooklyn and Tinker Chicago Nat'l. Each of these the large silks measures approximately 6.5x8". Also incorporated into the design, and connected with pinpoint embroidery are large size silks, "Tale 2 The Royal Hunters" and "Tale 13 The Blonde Lady" from Turkish Trophies' "Tales of the Turkish Trophies (Kink Series). Consistent with textile design of the period, the standard smaller more common silks embellish and surround the large silks. Around the perimeter are 40+ silks, an interesting assortment Zira Girls, flags, birds etc. The edges are embroidered in such a way that the end result appears like a commercial piece, artistically rendered. Overall measures 14x24" and is in EX condition.
