Amazing Wire Photo Collection with Hemingway, Bogey, Houdini & The Rat Pack (9)
Rare and original wire photos of some of the classic icons of American culture. All are vintage originals. 1-2) Two very hard to find "early" ones of Ernest Hemingway. You always see him in his later years in Cuba, these are first generation originals of him in his prime. 3-4) Two of tough guy Humphrey Bogart. One is incredibly early 1926 image with his "new" first wife, Helen Menken. This incredibly rare photo was taken based on his fame in NY society rather than being an actor. The other pic has Bogey with his 3 year-old son holding his (Bogey's) Oscar. Amazing, an OSCAR shot. 5) Harry Houdini in an original 1919 movie still from, "The Grim Game". 6) Judy Garland in a Rat Pack sandwich between Sinatra and Martin from her 1962 TV show. 7) Unusual format (very private type piece) of FDR in the 1932 waters of Warm Springs. 8) Truman and Churchill chatting famously in the back seat of a 1952 White House limo. 9) Lastly, the great Mae West turning up the heat in a still from her 1943 film "The Heat's On". Overall EX+ condition with some publishing marks.
