Amelia Earhart Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photo of American aviator Amelia Earhart, circa 1930s. The photo captures Earhart seated at her desk as she demurely gazes into the camera. Five Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a handwritten pencil notation that reads “Miss Amelia Earhart Putman.” Earhart married publisher George Putnam in 1931, thereby dating the photo between the years 1931 and 1937. One of the most famous women in American history, Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Today, she is best known for her mysterious disappearance in 1937 while attempting to become the first woman to make a circumnavigational flight around the world. The photo (6x8”) displays a few light wrinkles and is in Very Good to Excellent condition. Culled from the Legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
