Annie Oakley Turn of the Century Plugged Coin

Annie Oakley Turn of the Century Plugged Coin

Famed sharpshooter Annie Oakley blasted this 1901 penny dead center and stamped it "A. Oakley". A member of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, Oakley made her name performing for awed-crowds as she casually sniped a number of objects with her pistols and rifles. She was one of the first female celebrities in America, and with good reason, as few were as good a shot as Annie. The coin has been hit on the front and blown out the back, and the patina on the stamp is excellent. A fantastic souvenir of American showmanship.
