Apollo 16 Flown Medal with LOA from Astronaut Charles Duke

Sterling silver medallion was flown to the moon and is one of the few "official" 100% verifiable authentic flight-carried pieces you will ever see. One side is the logo of the mission featuring the astronaut's names John W. Young, Kenneth Mattingly II, and Charles M. Duke, Jr. The sixteen stars represent the Apollo number and the NASA "vector" logo for the teamwork and spirit of this mission. Verso, "Launched Apr. 16 1972…Landed Apr. 20, 1972…Returned Apr. 27, 1972." This gorgeous 1.25" Robbins is known as such for the company's involvement dating back to Apollo 7. Marked on the side with their "R", "Sterling" and the number "37" (as in the LOA) from a limited edition of 98 that were actually flown to the moon. In original box with "37" label on verso. 1993 LOA signed by "Charles M. Duke, Jr. Brigadier General USAF Apollo 16 Astronaut".
