B18 Baseball Blankets with Joe Jackson
These small squares of cloth could be found wrapped around several popular brands of tobacco in 1914. They were often sewn together to forms swatches of cloth, and thus earned the nickname "blankets", despite their small size. This is a fantastic example of a fully formed "blanket", featuring 12 different squares sewn together to create a beautiful 15x20" piece. Each square shows a player along with two flags that declare the league and team that player belonged to. On this blanket are great players such as Joe Jackson, Hyatt, Whaling, Mowrey, Murray, McBride, Snodgrass, Foster, Kelley, Turner, Wallace and Meyers. The blanket has been placed on a fantastic red velvet backing and framed to 19x24". Mild staining throughout, but is o/w EX.
