A magnificent photo of the most distinguished hitting duo of all time. In baseball’s rich history, there has never been a more prolific or famous one-two punch. Loved by fans and media alike, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig became a household name, they were the kings of baseball. The impression they left on the world of sports is unforgettable and never to be repeated. Dressed in Yankee pinstripes, wearing their fielding gloves, the two pose nicely with smiles for this timeless photo on the infield grass of Yankee Stadium. Capped by the fountain ink signatures from both Ruth and Gehrig. This was signed to fellow player and Hall of Famer Herb Pennock, the season following Babe Ruth’s creation of the his single season home run record and is dated by Ruth: “To My Pal Herb Pennock From Babe Ruth - April 12, 1928” and “To my true and sincere friend Herb Pennock, Sincerely, Lou Gehrig.” The signatures are somewhat faded, although still clearly legible, grading “6” and “7” out of a possible 10. LOA included. Photo is in beautiful EX-MT condition with a fair amount of toning, but no damage or blemishes of any kind.
