Babe Ruth and Wife Original Film Negative
<p><span style="background: white none repeat scroll 0% 0%; font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana; color: #333333;">Original film negative capturing Babe Ruth posing with his wife Clair at Yankee Stadium. The other woman appears to be Ruth’s stepdaughter, Julia. The negative is accompanied by its original paper sleeve, which bears the handwritten notation “Babe Ruth + Wife Before Start of World Series.” While the bunting and packed stands would seem to confirm that this was taken at a World Series game, we have seen another photo, nearly identical to this image, that identifies it as opening day at Yankee Stadium in 1933, which would also be consistent with the setting. Regardless, it remains a wonderful image of Ruth and his family at the ballpark during the early 1930s. The negative (4.75x3.75”) is in Excellent condition.
