Babe Ruth Lifesize Diecut Vintage Signed by 200+ Big Leaguers from the Lefty Gomez Estate
An incredible, lifesize diecut of the Bambino, vintage signed by over 200 American League Big Leaguers from the the early 1950s. This magnificent display was owned by Hall of Famer Lefty Gomez, and brought to Yankee Stadium where it was signed by the New York Yankees of the era, as well as players from visiting clubs. Signatures include Mickey Mantle, Phil Rizzuto, Yogi Berra, Don Larson, Ted Williams, Harry Agganis, Bill Dickey, Allie Reynolds, Heinie Manush, Ed Lopat, Don Mossi, Enos Slaughter, Fred Hutchinson, Gil McDougald, Early Wynn, Bob Feller, Sherm Lollar, Bob Turley, Eddie Waitkus, Joe Cronin, Larry Doby, George Zuverink, Walt Dropo, Ed Lopat, Bill Skowron, Hank Bauer, Vern Stephens, Frank Crosetti, Elmer Valo, Howie Fox, Virgil Trucks, Gene Woodling, Jerry Coleman, Irv Noren, Hal Newhouser, Dale Mitchell, Johnny Sain,. Cal Abrams, Mickey Owens, Minnie Minoso, Vic Wertz, Jimmy Piersall, Gus Zernial, Red Kress, Roy Sievers, Mickey Vernon and Ray Boone. The 1/4 inch thich diecut measures 51 inches in length, and 24 inches wide, and is in overall Excellent condition. The majority of the signatures are "8", although some are even better, some have faded over time. Accompanied by a copy of the original 1967 newspaper article describing the Lefty Gomez auction of sports memorabilia, which pictures this actual piece. One of the most amazing display pieces we have ever offered, with a connection to one of the great Yankee pitchers of all time.
