Babe Ruth Monument Dedication & Casey Stengel's First Game Program

Babe Ruth Monument Dedication & Casey Stengel's First Game Program

This official program and scorecard is from Yankees Opening Day in 1949 - which also happened to be Casey Stengel's first game as the Bombers manager AND the day Babe Ruth's monument was dedicated in the original Yankee Stadium. The program is in EX+ condition, showing light wear. A small portion of the top corner of the back cover of the program has been torn off, accounting for the only visible damage. Inside, the game - a 3-2 Yankees victory - has been scored by a fan in pencil. Little did anyone leaving the Stadium that day know that Stengel would have 3,765 more managerial wins in him!
