Babe Ruth of the Boston Red Sox by Arthur MIller

Babe Ruth of the Boston Red Sox by Arthur MIller

A beautiful oil-on-board portrait by artist Arthur Miller of the Bambino himself wearing a Red Sox uniform. The painting has been framed to 26x29" and shows a young Ruth in full Red Sox uniform with hands on hips. Ruth began his career as an outstanding pitcher for the Red Sox, but was traded to the Yankees in 1919. The Yankees converted Ruth to a right fielder, and he became one of the most prolific hitters in baseball history. The trade of Ruth helped create what was known as "The Curse of the Bambino", wherein the once-great Red Sox would see their World Series hopes crushed repeatedly for many decades, while the then-weaker Yankees became the most prolific franchise in American sports history.
