Babe Ruth & Rogers Hornsby 1926 World Series Photograph (PSA Type I)

Babe Ruth & Rogers Hornsby 1926 World Series Photograph (PSA Type I)

Original Type I photograph capturing Babe Ruth and Rogers Hornsby posing together at Yankee Stadium during the 1926 World Series. Ruth is pictured presenting Hornsby with his "All America Baseball Team" certificate, as Kirk Miller, sports editor of the Washington Herald, stands between them holding the award. Ruth was the chairman of the All America Board of Baseball, which each year selected the top player at each position. Ruth's title of chairman was entirely ceremonial and the All American Board of Baseball was created by Ruth's agent Christy Walsh as a public relations vehicle for Ruth. The organization's main function was to create photo opportunities like this for Ruth, and he was always happy to oblige. An "International Newsreel" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with handwritten editorial notations (including the identification of Kirk Miller), and a former owner's property stamp. The photo (6.25x8") displays light creases, a few small edge tears, clear tape on the reverse, and a tiny chip in the lower right corner. PSA encapsulated at Type I Authentic.
