Babe Ruth "Swinging" Original Glass Plate Negative Used for 1948 Hall of Fame Exhibit

Babe Ruth "Swinging" Original Glass Plate Negative Used for 1948 Hall of Fame Exhibit

Vintage one of a kind, from the camera glass plate negative captures Babe Ruth following through on his majestic swing. Measures 4x5" and looks to have been taken at Chicago's Comiskey Park; a little hard to discern from Babe's gaze skyward, but it appears that this was more likely a pop-up than one of his prodigious 714 homers. Still a tremendous look at arguably the greatest legend in baseball history. Slight discoloration at one corner and edges along with minor image loss to one edge; yet George Herman Ruth is crystal clear in all his glory. This image was used for Ruth's 1948 Hall of Fame exhibit card.
