Baseball Used In The Final Game At Crosley Field
June 24, 1970, marked the end of an era in Cincinnati. When the Reds defeated the Giants that night, it marked the last game ever played at the venerable Crosley Field. This official National League (Feeney) baseball was used during that 5-4 victory and it shows some use. There is also the following notation printed on it: "Ball Used In Last Game At Crosley Field 6/24/70." Comes with a letter from grounds crew member Donald Winkler, who obtained the ball at the game. Six days later, the Reds played their first game at the cement donut known as Riverfront Stadium.
