Bing Crosby Record Award (11 x 14'')

Bing Crosby Record Award (11 x 14'')

Vintage 1970, all-original gold record award speaks volumes to the immortal music of Bing Crosby. Obtained from the Bing Crosby estate, this example, awarded for “Silent Night” in 1970, is the highly coveted original gold record award, of the version presented directly to artist by his label to publicize the achievement of 1 million sales. However, this one was awarded to Bing Crosby by Decca Records “to commemorate the sale of more than three hundred million six hundred fifty thousand records”, as engraved on silver plate. It surely would have been named platinum, but since the platinum record wasn’t introduced until 1976, this one is simply the record award. The award is encased in wooden frame with black velvet backing with stand, which allows you to stand this one up with pride. EX-MT.
