Bob Hoover Flight Worn Suit

Bob Hoover Flight Worn Suit

Flight worn suit by noted aviator and aerial acrobat Bob Hoover. Bright yellow suit with blue stripe down each side bears a tag in the neck from "Bowler's Shirt & Uniform Co. Inc" from Los Angeles California and has "Bob Hoover" embroidered in blue above the left front zipper pocket. Evident wear with unidentified stain on left sleeve. Hoover spent nearly a half century as a featured air show pilot, but he earned his wings in World War II, after he was shot down in 1944 and spent a year in a German POW camp before escaping and flying a stolen enemy plane to freedom.
