Boxer Frankie Campbell Photographs (12)
San Francisco boxer, Frankie Campbell, is best known for his final fight, on August 25, 1930 when he died from a massive concussion dealt to him by Max Baer. Nice coverage here from the San Francisco Examiner with several images leading up to the infamous bout against the powerful German. Also includes some early, posed shots of Campbell from the mid 1920's, (3) fine NM/MT 8x10 photos by Fred Mae of SF dated Feb 21, 1930 and a 1935 photo of Campbell's son and widow. Besides the NM/MT 8x10's, photos are VG/EX with editor enhancements.
