On its own, this ornate bronze mantel is impressive. What makes it more so is that it’s from Honus Wagner’s home in Carnegie, PA, where he resided from 1918 until his death in 1955. Also comes with two bronze vents and one bronze cover with knob for the clean-out. All items match, and the original 1917 receipt for them is included. They were made by the Morris, Graf & Co. of Wilkinsburg, PA. The receipt specifies “J.H. Wagner Residence, Beechwood Ave.” The cost in 1917 was $491. Condition is EX and the mantel is beautiful. Recently removed from the residence which is being sold in this auction.
