Exceptional material documents this landmark baseball tour undertaken by the Brooklyn Dodgers following the 1956 season. All herein is of top Japanese craftsmanship in both the photography and the printing. 1) 43 previously unpublished original negatives by a member of the Dodger entourage. Fujicolor 35mm slides is the <b>only color material </b>we know of. 12 prime pieces features stunning game, bench, and crowd shots featuring fresh rookie Don Drysdale, Campy clowning, Zimmer & Branca looking like Coca Cola adverting (2), serious Gil Hodges, Dressen with Charlie DiGiovanni. The balance of 31 negs are travel related (there is a wonderful one of Walter O’Malley surrounded by young Japanese women). Original boxes. NRMT. 2) Rich group of 76 photos of the Tour is all the best players from Jackie on down. All are baseball and/or Tour related. From 7x9” to 3.2x2.5” these were given to all of the Tour members. VG-EX. Even an unused postcard of the hotel. 3) 8mm silent film of the Tour is about 8.5 minutes. Previously unknown footage of Hawaii with Jackie & Rachel, Zimmer, Newcombe, Drysdale, Furillo, Campy at the airport, hotel, beach, golf, and Pearl Harbor. The first film we have seen of The Tour is transferred to video for your convenience.
