A wide-ranging collection of 1950's Brooklyn Dodgers items, including: 1.) a 33 1/2" Louisville Slugger bat, printed "Ebbets Field / 1913-1957", signed in blue sharpie by nineteen players, including Carl Erskine, Mickey Owen, Johnny Podres; 2.) "Brooklyn Dodgers" blue & white 1 1/4" pin, with ribbons and copper ball & bat on chain; 3.) folding 2 1/2" pocket knife, labeled "Souvenir / Brooklyn Dodgers"; 4.) clear glass ashtray, 4" with "Dodgers" and a neat rendition of the iconic bum with bat & ball in blue; 5.) three 28" pennants, red, blue green, all with "Brooklyn Dodgers", two with pictures of the famous bum, one with batter and baseball diamond. A few pinholes, one missing tip, one with cracks in paint; 6.) 1952 calendar with a 7" x 9 1/2" lithograph of Jackie Robinson with faux signature, overall 10" x 17"; 7.) four different First Day Covers, 6 1/2" x 3 1/2", each postmarked Cooperstown, NY on August 2, 1982, featuring the just-issued Jackie Robinson 20-cent stamp; 8.) 3 1/2" x 6" ink blotter, with a powerful anti-discrimination message, featuring inset photos of Jackie Robinson, Mel Allen, Joe DiMaggio and others; 9.) five 1" x 1/2" plastic lockets and pin-back buttons with photos of Dodger players; 10.) and last, but absolutely not least, a 1946 baseball program for the defending Junior World Champion Louisville Colonels. So why is this included? Check the visiting team, the Montreal Royals, and see the player at second base. The immortal Jackie Robinson, in his one and only year in the minors.
