Before the Boys of Summer, there were the Brooklyn Dodgers of the 1930’s-40’s. The 1930’s Dodgers were the wildest squad in the history of Brooklyn, and the 1940’s Dodgers was the squad that established the powerhouse that broke baseball’s color line with Jackie Robinson. Shown in this collection, representing vintage Brooklyn Dodgers baseball are the teams of the 1930’s and early 1940’s. Two with Dolph Camilli, Pete Coscarart, Leo Durocher & Cookie Lavagetto (one standing, one kneeling), two show the 1939 outfield made up of Art Parkes, Ernie Koy, & Gene Moore, unidentified player with Coscarart & Gene Moore, Ray Mueller in full catcher’s gear (except facemask) posing in front of dugout, Durocher with Camilli posing in front of dugout, Camilli with Pete Reiser, Jay Hudson with Camilli, Leo Durocher wearing 1939 “baseball centennial” uniform patch, John Allen, and one unidentified. Each measures 4x5”, Excellent condition.
