Bruce Springsteen Signed Oversized Photo on Canvas (PSA)

One day, circa 1964-65, Bruce Springsteen, who loved baseball, was playing right field in the Freehold, New Jersey Base Ruth League, and a fly ball, possibly caught in the wind, headed towards him. Bruce went for it, and the ball struck him in the head. With Springsteen, his passion for baseball exceeded his ability to play it. The ball hit him hard enough to discourage any strong interest in playing baseball as a career, but not hard enough to cause any damage to his creative abilities. And the rest is musical, rather than baseball, history. Yet, the sporting and musical worlds share their passion for Springsteen's "Glory Days", a rousing baseball anthem most likely played in almost any ballpark in America big enough to have a P.A. system. And on another level, it is a comment on looking back, as does everyone, to those "glory days". Here's a photograph of Springsteen so vivid that it seems to be a painting, capturing all of his emotion as he uses his athleticism, not in playing baseball, but rather in his playing guitar, singing, and moving - giving it everything he has. Springsteen still lives in New Jersey, close to where he grew up, and on occasional nights he will foray into a local area bar, and trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, ask to sit in with the local band. He plays for twenty minutes or so, and leaves before a crowd, called by friends on cell phones, can gather and make it a big scene. Why does he sit in with local bands? He just loves to play. This beautiful, oversized photograph captures Springsteen, eyes closed, holding nothing back. He didn't ever play big time baseball, but Bruce Springsteen is Willie Mays on stage, running out from under his hat; he's Ty Cobb, gritting his teeth, but without malice; and he's Pete Rose, not the gambling Pete Rose, but the ball player who played all out, pedal to the metal. Springsteen has signed the photo with a thin-tipped black marker, in large, neat flowing script. The photo measures 19.5" x 23.5", and it comes with a full PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity. It's a wonderful, electric, visually appealing photo that captures Bruce Springsteen's heart.
