Brussels Boxing Site Poster 1935
Colorful boxing site poster is for an October 2, 1935 IBU Heavyweight Championship bout between Pierre Charles and George Godfrey at the Palais des Sports de Bruxelles. Aproximately 21" X 12" and features head shots of both boxers below their respective country's flags. Charles is listed as the champ of Belgium and Europe while Godrey is called the "champion of the black race". Godfrey actually held the title "Negro Heavyweight Champion of the World" after winning a 1932 fight against Roy "Ace" Clark. The poster is in French and has been rolled up on two wooden sticks for storage. NRMT.
