Buffalo Bill Cody ALS

Autograph letter signed, with envelope both handwritten by W.F.Cody , to Irving R. Bacon of Redford, Michigan. Dated July 29th 1915, letter is on illustrated “Buffalo Bill Wild West” Col. W F Cody” letterhead stationery as is the envelope. Letter is in fountain pen and continues from the front to the back. Although letter is written on ornate and expensive printed stationery, Bill states that times are tough and that he is unable to pay back the $100 loan. He mentions interest in writing a story of his life, living in the Rockies, the Shoshone Indians and hunting. He signs off, “Love to all, Your true friend, W.F. Cody”. Letter is folded, slightly wrinkled, and has a missing chip at the centerfold. Someone wrote twice in red pencil “Exhibit D” on the right border. Overall condition is VG. Envelope is missing the top portion and has edge wear.
