Cal Ripken Jr. Serigraph by LeRoy Neiman
The man who broke Lou Gehrig's "Iron Man" streak with 2,632 consecutive games played is accentuated in colorful brush strokes as famed artist LeRoy Neiman captured the Hall of Fame shortstop that fateful night of September 6, 1995 in this limited edition serigraph. Numbered 6 out of 370, the painting measures 44" x 51.5" in its frame, is in NRMT condition and features the number at the bottom center. Ripken, himself, signed the lower left in pencil and Neiman did the same in pencil at the lower right. Cal Ripken, Junior was a 19-time All-Star and two-time American League Most Valuable Player during his 21 big-league seasons, exclusively with the Orioles. Neiman produced about six different serigraph subjects a year, and did most of his work for Playboy magazine, contributing illustrations to that publication until his death in 2012.
