Callahan Hall of Fame Original Art
This gorgeous 10.5x14" portrait of famed ballplayer Rogers Hornsby is framed to 17x21". Created by artist Mario Demarco, the painting is done on an interesting form of relief canvas, which gives the image a "dotted" appearance. Also included within the frame is a small piece of paper with what appears to be Hornsby's signature. This piece was created for the Callahan Hall of Fame series of baseball cards distributed between 1950 and 1959 at the Hall of Fame and various stadiums. Hornsby had a career .358 batting average, won two triple crowns, two MVPs, and holds the single season batting average record with a mind-blowing .424.
