Caramel Candy Cards (3)
The Flying Dutchman and Gettysburg Eddie Plank both emerged from anonymity to become two of the most revered names in the sport. Two of a 25-card issue produced by the Philadelphia Caramel Co., actually of Camden NJ (even then no one admitted to being from Jersey) in 1909. The Wagner is rated Good by SGC and the Plank is VG. Blazing red fills the background behind a fully extended Ty Cobb on this highly desirable 1910 E98 piece whose manufacturer remains a mystery. Light pencil and slight paper loss on verse, o/w EX.
