Cassius Clay Vintage Ink Signature
Cassius Clay won the Olympic Gold Medal in boxing at the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics and defeated Sonny Liston on February 25, 1964 to win the World Heavyweight Title. When Clay first started his professional career, he was managed by The Louisville Sponsoring Group... several Louisville businessmen who signed Clay to a managing contract. Presented here is a rare vintage, signed cut of Cassius Clay with a stamp from the Louisville Sponsoring Group imprinted on the cut circa 1960-1964. It measures 3 1/4” by 5”. The paper shows some minor toning from age but is otherwise clean. The signature is bold and in black ink. Scarce vintage Clay signature. LOA from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc. Additional LOA from JSA.
