Cassius Clay Worn Sparring Gloves
Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Born Cassius Clay, he enjoyed a terrific amateur career under the tuteledge of Joe Martin which culminated with a gold medal in the 1960 Olympic Games. Offered here are a pair of sparring gloves used by Cassius Clay as an amateur when he trained at the Columbia Street Gym in Louisville under Joe Martin. The gloves are black leather sparring gloves with Everlast labels at the wrists. Marked inside in ink, C.C. and Clay and faint markings of the trainer. Include the laces. Well worn, but intact. LOA's from Peter Morkovin who obtained the gloves in Louisville and Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc.
