Chief Meyers Meets the Mayor Photograph (PSA Type I)
Nice circa 1910s photo of catcher Chief Meyers shaking hands with New York City Mayor William Gaynor. Photo measures 7x5" with some minor chips at the edges, Meyers is in uniform in a packed Polo Grounds while Gaynor and another unidentified male are bundled up with coat and bowler hats. Pencil caption in script on verso reads, "Mayor Gaynor shakes hands with Chief Meyers, the Giants Indian catcher" along with Brown Brothers stamps from the photo collection service. PSA Type I encapsulated.
