Splendid image of Hall of Fame great Christy Mathewson in this original, one of a kind, from-the-camera, glass plate negative. The legendary hurler known as "Big Six" is shown in warm-ups at the Polo Grounds with Bull Durham Tobacco sign in the background in this 5x7" classic. Very minor image loss at edges with some oxidation present, though the image remains very crisp. More great baseball history documented by the Brown Brothers as part of their photo service, founded in 1904.
