Classic rare image of New York Giants great Christy Mathewson with a bat waiting his turn to hit. Cne of a kind, original, from the camera negative is circa 1910, measures 5x7" and has some slight image loss as the edges. A testament to his durability on the hill, Matty amassed 1,900 plate appearances in his 17 seasons, with 167 RBI and a respectable .215 career batting average. Yet another treasure emanating from the massive Brown Brothers photo collection.
