Early 1910s glass plate negative of Hall of Fame pitcher Christy Mathewson. Head-and-shoulders image is 5x7", glass displays slight image loss at top edge, not uncommon for plates of this nature and not deterring from a great shot of one of the greatest hurlers in baseball history. This plate can generate reproductions that look as crisp as though they were taken today. Comes from Brown Brothers photo service collection.
