Christy Mathewson Portrait Photograph Used for 1915 Cracker Jack & W600 Sporting Life (PSA Type I)
Great history with a twist in this circa 1900s Christy Mathewson portrait photo. A youthful Mathewson is dapperly clad in jacket and tie, staring just off-camera in this 4x5.5 beauty. Interestingly, this card was used for the 1915 Cracker Jack card set; most player images were identical to the 1914 issue but Matty's was different, as this image replaced his action image from the prior set. ID and notations on back in pencil along with stamps from the Brown Brothers archive. PSA encapsulated Type I Authentic.
