Circa 1910 Honus Wagner "King of the Diamond" Cigar Box

Circa 1910 Honus Wagner "King of the Diamond" Cigar Box

This is the piece that puts to rest the myth that Honus Wagner was against smoking and thus the reason for his stopping the production and causing the rarity of his T206 baseball card. Also, it cements the fact that Wagner did object to tobacco companies and others using his likeness for free - this is the one he got PAID for! With eight batting titles, Honus Wagner could definitely make the claim he was "King of the Diamond." And that's exactly what is printed atop this vintage wooden cigar box. Dating from more than a century ago, this is one of the few pieces that partners Honus Wagner and tobacco. This 11x6" cigar box features stunning full-color lithographic paper labels both inside and out. The inner label features an enchanting image of Mr. T206 smack dab in the center and the outer "side label" displays the a similarly attractive design. Overall, the piece has wear but is still an aesthetic and historical treasure. The perfect mate to your T206 Honus Wagner baseball card or a much more reasonable substitute.
